Mick has a career in the international energy and resources industry, with over 25 years in management roles in operations and project development with Tier 1 mining companies, in coal, iron ore, copper and industrial minerals. He has broad leadership experience and skilled in strategic planning, feasibility studies, value chain improvement, negotiating, and project management. He has undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering and Natural Resources and post-graduate degrees in Hydrology and Hydrogeology and a Masters in International Law.
Mick has spent his last 10 years managing complex capital portfolios exceeding USD10B, and delivering complex mining and logistics projects in Australia, Africa and South America. Mick has core competencies in project development, operational reviews and complex enabling infrastructure development. Mick has led large teams of over 100 professionals, and understands the need to coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
Mick is a innovative thinker with a consultative style, and passionate approach to driving results and maximising value. He is a Professional Engineer, and trained in PMBOK and PRINCE2 project management methodologies. Prior to PPS Consulting Mick held senior management positions at BHP and Rio Tinto for almost 20 years.
